Gelb — Nail Studio & Clothing
Always Yellow
A nail studio that sells clothes. All in one single colour, right down to the bag.
Fictional sample project. This client does not exist — it shows what a real reference will look like once the work is in. Delete before going live.
A quirk nobody could explain is now the name of the shop.
The brief
A nail studio that had started selling clothes on the side — yellow ones, exclusively. Not out of strategy, but because the owner did not like anything else. Two businesses in one room, with no shared name and no shared idea.
We turned the quirk into the brand. The shop is now called what it already was.
One colour, never a second
The hardest decision was to allow no secondary colour. No second yellow for shading, no warm grey to calm things down. Only `#FFD400`, black and white.
That sounds like a restriction and is the opposite: because the colour is fixed, every design decision has to be made through form, size and arrangement. It makes the work better.

Three values. There is no fourth, and there never will be.

People come in now and ask for the yellow shop. Before, nobody could describe us at all.
Signage, wordmark, lookbook. Everything was photographed against a yellow ground.
